Bacon Bowl
Association Mission Our We feel it is important
that in the communities, where police officers are sworn to protect and
serve, that police officers are viewed not only as enforcers of the law but as a integral part of the community’s family.
Police officers are also fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, sons, daughters
and friends - in other words, we are like you. There are law enforcement community events held throughout the country in
which officers show their appreciation for community support by the donation
of their personal time to worth while causes. The Bacon Bowl Association is
representative of Seattle and Tacoma area law enforcement officers who have
made the decision to give to their communities by participating in various charity
fundraisers throughout the year. The law enforcement officers and
civilian volunteers who make up the Bacon Bowl Association hope to accomplish
these goals: 1. To present a more positive, human image of law enforcement officers. 2. To benefit children —
police officers have a big soft spot for kids, especially those that are in
need of special care and attention. 3. To offer the officers a
chance to get acquainted and to relate with their brother officers. |

BACON BOWL WAS BORN.... The entire volunteer board went to work. We borrowed equipment
and asked for help from everyone we knew - or met! More than enough officers
volunteered their OFF DUTY time to practice and participate. Bacon Bowl I in 1979 saw approximately $5000.00 distributed to
children in need in the Bacon Bowl XXIII (2001) brought the total DISTRIBUTED TO
$2,446,100.00 (TWO MILLION FOUR HUNDRED FORTY SIX THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED
DOLLARS). Over 3000 officers from the Seattle Police, Tacoma Police, Pierce
County Sheriff, King County Sheriff and Washington State Patrol have
participated in this annual charity event. Some of the original players have
become disabled, retired, died or become fans. We are proud of Bacon Bowl, the largest charity football game
